Now is the time to ensure that your voice will be heard in May. If you aren’t registered to vote, you won’t be able to have your say in the upcoming General Election.

The way we register to vote has changed. Instead of having one person register an entire household, everyone must now register to vote individually. Many people have had their vote transferred onto the new list, but well over a million people are thought to have dropped off the register- and you’re particularly at risk if you are a student, or have moved house recently.

To register simply visit https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. You’ll need to have your National Insurance number to hand. If you need more information, and you live in Nottingham, you can visit Nottingham City Council Electoral Services to find out more.

The registration deadline for the General Election is Monday 20th April. Your vote matters- don’t miss the deadline.
