Get Involved
Politicians and the political process have been under significant scrutiny over the past few years and trust in elected representatives is at threat. This is not only unhealthy for our democracy at large, but also for our local communities. Those who are disillusioned with ‘politics’ and feel cut-out of the decision making process are less likely to vote and to take on the responsibility for affecting positive change in the areas they live.
I understand why it is that people often feel angry and distant from their MPs and consequently I am committed to changing the nature of my relationship with constituents. I promise to be respectful and as responsive as possible to the concerns of my constituents..
But ultimately I can’t do it all by myself! If you believe in the need to have a progressive Government in this country, then I encourage you to join the Labour Party and help shape the policies for which we stand. These web pages are designed to help facilitate your participation in the political life of Nottingham East and give you a platform from which to keep us informed about what is happening in your local area.
There are many different things you can do to help inform and support me and the Labour P
arty in Nottingham East. Whether by simply joining the party, writing a letter to the Nottingham Post, delivering leaflets or spreading the word to your neighbours about our campaigns, there is something you can do to contribute.
No matter what your age or background, whether you have been involved in ‘politics’ before or not and regardless of the amount of time you can spare there are a variety of things you can do to get involved.
